Synopsis:
1969: Injury robs a youthful Derek Braithwaite of his dream to play professional rugby league for the all-conquering Wakefield Trinity, and he resigns himself to a life at the coal-face down the local pit.
1984: Now staring middle-age in the face and struggling with the question of whether to join the imminent miners' strike, the flame of Derek's unfulfilled youth suddenly flickers back to life when Australian legend Wally Lewis signs for the now-struggling Trinity on a temporary contract.
With the feeling of mutiny stewing in the local air, Derek must decide whether to embrace his inner yearning or snuff it out for good. His actions in either direction will have major repercussions not only for himself, but also his young family and the wider community.
