Respected paleontologist Melvyn ruffles feathers in the scientific community when he declares his intent to re-classify a local icon - the endangered cassowary bird - as a living dinosaur; Melvyn’s asexual daughter Fleur wrestles with the constraints of her gender identity as she teeters on the cusp of adulthood; meanwhile Fleur’s best friend Byron struggles to repress the secret homosexuality that could derail his marketability as a future Ironman champion.
